How to Leverage Visibility of the Project? MOTIVATE XR Case

MOTIVATE XR aims to revolutionise industry training through innovative, adaptive, and groundbreaking XR tools. Achieving this ambitious goal requires impactful communication and dissemination to attract key stakeholders and future collaborators. This blog post outlines how the MOTIVATE XR consortium is strategically approaching this crucial aspect.

Our overarching aim is to: 1) Maximise the impact of MOTIVATE XR, 2) facilitate the adoption of our tools and foster valuable synergies, and 3) prepare for successful market entry.

Key Dissemination Objectives

To realise these central goals, our dissemination strategy is specifically designed to reach and engage critical audiences:

  • Academic & Research Community: We aim to share non-confidential knowledge and results with academics, EU XR initiatives and networks, and other EU research projects. This will maximise our technological impact and foster future research and innovation collaborations.
  • Industry Stakeholders: We are committed to promoting the effective and replicable transfer of our developed tools across the industry value chain. By raising awareness of their potential and impact, we aim to unlock new business opportunities.
  • Policy & Standardisation Bodies: We intend to contribute to shaping relevant policies and support the implementation of new initiatives that encourage the adoption of emerging edge topologies.

The initial phase of the project has involved significant effort in laying the groundwork for our dissemination and exploitation plan. This included workshops to identify Key Exploitable Results (KERs), a process that will continue throughout the project lifecycle to ensure maximum future impact.

Simultaneously, we prioritised communication activities to build early awareness among relevant stakeholders. This involved establishing our online presence through social media channels and a dedicated website, developing a comprehensive communication kit, and identifying key events for initial outreach. Regular WP2 meetings, led by F6S, have been instrumental in aligning partners on the various aspects of communication, dissemination, and exploitation.

Our Communication Strategy

Our communication strategy is built on proactive and multi-faceted engagement with key stakeholders. This includes:

  • Building a Strong Online Presence: Our website and targeted social media channels serve as central hubs for project information and direct interaction.
  • Developing a Compelling Narrative: We are crafting clear and consistent messaging to highlight the transformative potential of MOTIVATE XR.
  • Creating Engaging Materials: A comprehensive communication kit ensures we can effectively convey our message through various formats.
  • Targeted Stakeholder Outreach: We are actively engaging with relevant individuals and organizations to build relationships and explore collaborations.
  • Strategic Event Participation: We are directly engaging with key audiences, showcasing innovations and fostering collaborations at relevant conferences and industry gatherings.
  • Fostering Internal Collaboration: Regular communication within the consortium ensures a unified and consistent external message.
  • Continuous Monitoring and Evaluation: We are tracking key metrics to assess the effectiveness of our communication efforts and make necessary adjustments.

Dissemination and Exploitation activities

Our initial activities in this area involved a comprehensive questionnaire among partners, followed by in-person workshops during consortium meetings. Our exploitation methodology utilises a well-established creative thinking model adapted to the project’s specific needs and challenges. F6S, as WP2 leader, is guiding discussions around project results and their potential for ensuring the project’s long-term sustainability. We have used various tools and techniques, including design thinking, Value Proposition Canvas, and user personas, to help partners gain a clear perspective on KERs. This iterative process of identifying results and KERs will continue throughout the project, driving towards meaningful future impact.

By strategically integrating our communication and dissemination efforts, MOTIVATE XR is committed to maximising its visibility, fostering collaboration, and ultimately driving the adoption of our innovative XR solutions in industry training.
