Maggioli is a leading company with over 3,000 employees globally, established over a century ago as a family-owned business. It emphasises innovation and corporate social responsibility, expanding its operations beyond Italy to countries like Spain, Greece, and Latin America. The company prioritises Research and Development (R&D) across various fields, including AI, Industry 4.0, E-health, Cybersecurity, and Extended Reality, actively initiating and participating in numerous significant projects.

Role: As Project Coordinator, MAG plays a crucial role in the MOTIVATE XR project by coordinating all administrative, technical, contractual, and financial aspects to ensure high-quality project outcomes through self-assessment and effective risk management. Additionally, MAG is responsible for the continuous integration and verification of the MOTIVATE XR framework, ensuring technical accuracy and reliability.

CS Group is a large industrial company and global pioneer in the fields of Virtual and Augmented Reality and interactive storytelling since 1994, and one of the few European partners of Microsoft’s Mixed Reality programme. It has successfully coordinated dozens of EC projects and has demonstrated its excellence in the VR/XR domain by completing several of them with the “Exceptional results” mark in their final review report. CS is the editor of the award-winning world-leading Inscape product for the no-code authoring of XR experiences for maintenance training and operational support, which results from the former INSCAPE EC project.

Role:Within MOTIVATE XR CS Group will be leading WP4 activities focusing on XR Authoring Tools. The company will also contribute to the development and implementation of the XR Experiencing tools in collaboration with several technical partners. In addition, CS will be strongly involved in the requirements collection, integration and validation processes, as well as communication and dissemination to promote MOTIVATE XR.

Role:Sopra Steria is involved in the development of new graph-based knowledge models (GraphRAG) using Sopra Steria’s proprietary tech stack to exploit the rich technical documentation with a ChatGPT-like experience. This project is based on the syntactic analysis, the construction of the knowledge base according to the ontology and semantic definitions defined in the design phase, the definition of the architecture and the integration for deployment to the Aeronautical pilot.

F6S is a leading global founder and startup network that helps public sector entities around the world to promote, communicate and disseminate technical and research projects. F6S stands for F-ounder-S. Our mission is to help founders and startups grow to solve the world’s pressing social, economic, environmental, sustainability and innovation problems. In addition to F6S’ work with governmental entities, we also work with corporates, investors, research institutions, programs, universities and others in the global startup ecosystem. F6S tools deliver company growth through grants, partnerships, funding, investment, pilot contracts, partnerships, jobs & talent recruitment company services and more.

Role: F6S will lead WP 2 on impact maximisation and outreach efforts, bringing their expertise in effectively communicating and disseminating research outcomes to maximise the impact and sustainability of the project results.

Youbiquo is a cutting-edge technology company specialising in the design and development of wearable augmented reality (AR) solutions. Their flagship products include smart glasses and AR devices aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency in various professional fields, such as industrial maintenance, logistics, and healthcare. Youbiquo’s innovative approach integrates advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT to provide users with real-time data and hands-free assistance, revolutionising how tasks are performed and information is accessed in demanding work environments.

Role:Youbiquo will be involved in WP5 and WP7 by contributing to the development and implementation of XR standards, ensuring interoperability and fostering collaboration across the industry. YBQ will also provide technical guidance and monitoring to ensure seamless integration and performance of the XR solutions developed within the project. Its involvement supports the creation of user-friendly tools that democratise access to XR technology, making it more accessible to a wider range of users, from industrial workers to the general public.

D-Cube is a spin-off company of the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas, spinning research achievements out of the Visual Computing Lab. D3 combines research, strong scientific background with customer-centric design, and deploy disruptive computer vision and machine learning technologies to diverse industries. D3 specialises in cutting-edge quality assurance solutions for diverse industrial domains, using computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data analytics.

Role:D-Cube will collaborate with UPM in WP4 (T4.2) to develop an advanced XR assistance application for assembling aluminium structures, featuring remote support capabilities. D-Cube will contribute to the AI-Powered Industrial Knowledge Transformation and the development of XR Experiencing Tools. D-cube’s focus will be on designing and developing a Remote Training System with integrated Remote Assistance capabilities, and will build upon its existing knowledge and codebase to enhance functionality, enabling effective remote training and support from an expert user.

2Freedom Imaging is a new technology-based company, born in Extremadura, Spain, with a mission to democratise measurement technology. 2F ́s products are the result of intensive and ongoing research by its team members. It uses videogrammetric technology and applies AI to change how it surveys the world.

Role:2F will provide its expertise and technology for 3D scanning to implement an AI-powered videogrammetry 3D scanner in WP4 (T4.1); digital twin models. 2F is in charge of the digitalisation of objects and environments and the application of AI to create a more efficient and useful model for the pilots.
2F technology is not only based on high-resolution images processed with videogrammetry, but also applied on other technologies and then segment with AI.

CETMA is a Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) constituted as a consortium of public research bodies and private enterprises, which carries out applied research activities on: • advanced materials and related production technologies; • techniques and innovative methods of industrial design; • advanced technologies of industrial production and services management.

It is a non-profit organisation and all its profits are reinvested in research, training and technology transfer activities.

Role:CETMA will lead the definition of End-user requirements and Use-case scenarios, involving pilot and technology owner. Within our tasks we will also cover UX Co-design activities, designing the User Experience in co-creation sessions involving end-users and technology developers. Our Visual Technology LAB will be used to set-up and test XR applications and tools developed by other project partners.

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) is Spain’s oldest and largest technical university, contributing significantly to the international scientific community. It involves the Information Processing and Telecommunications Center – IP&T Center – (through GATV research group), a European leading R&D centre in the field of real time computer vision, video processing, and visual communications.

Role:UPM will lead the project’s Scientific and Technical Coordination, focusing on converting technical documentation into knowledge-graphs using AI. The graphs collected will be transformed into XR experiences by project tools. UPM will also provide the Content Management System (CMS), which will serve as the backend core of the MOTIVATE XR platform, along with all integration APIs. UPM’s goal is to integrate all partners’ technologies, ensuring smooth information exchange between different subsystems and between the technical core and the pilots.

The Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship (DCE) aims to be a global leader in entrepreneurship and innovation research and education. It provides education programs at bachelor and master level and contributes to PhD training and other teaching programs. DCE is part of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management.

Role:TUD will be in charge of implementing the proposed user-centric methodology proposed in the project and will lead WP3 that will define the SSH framework to consider when designing and developing the MOTIVATE XR tools.

TECNALIA is the largest centre of applied research and technological development in Spain, a benchmark in Europe and a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance. TEC collaborates with companies and institutions to improve their competitiveness, people’s quality of life and achieve sustainable growth. We do it thanks to people who are passionate about technology and committed to building a better society.

Role:TECNALIA is the technical and organisational leader of WP5. In addition, TECNALIA brings to Motivate XR his extensive experience in European R&D projects and the research and development of AR/VR technology, with the KAYROX tool being the main exponent of this successful experience. KAYROX provides the project with a powerful tool for authoring and experiencing XR content, which will be evolved to improve its features.

Hisense Gorenje Europe (HGE) is the company in charge of all supporting functions of Gorenje like after sales, IT sales, marketing and accounting. The company has a strong presence in the European market (with a 4% share) for home appliances, where it sells a range of household appliances produced in Gorenje such as washing machines, tumble driers, ovens, cook hobs, refrigerator, freezer, dishwashers, etc. The company in total produces 3.5 million large home appliances per year. It also produces a large number of different own components produced internally. HGE has also been investing in the development of smart home technologies, such as the integration of its appliances with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, as well as the development of mobile apps to control and monitor its appliances remotely.

Role:HGE will lead Pilot 2- Home appliance use case, which will be executed in HGE premises. The pilot will be focused on Home appliance maintenance procedure, usually driven by technicians. The extended reality application will be tested to correctly follow existing maintenance workflow and using existing materials (pdf and video) in order to simplify all maintenance procedures. Same time also technical functionality of spare parts identification and videos of replacement procedure which includes complex workflows of troubleshooting will be tested through the procedure.

Aerospace Valley is the leading European competitiveness cluster in the aerospace sector serving 3 strategic sectors in Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée & Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions. It contributes to the development and competitiveness of its 830 members through innovation by promoting collaborative research and development projects. With its diverse ecosystem of leading groups, start-ups, SMEs, research laboratories, public actors, academic institutions and training organisations, Aerospace Valley is the only community in the world that brings together all the actors in the value chain from all segments of the aeronautics and space sector.

Role: Aerospace Valley will ensure the representation of final end-user needs for the aerospace industry, exceptional access to the required information and data to implement pilot 2, as well as the organisation of pilot 1 with Aerocampus. The focus will be on the automated conversion of technical documentations to an XR application exploiting an Aircraft digital mock-up and existing technical manuals.​ It will allow a reduction of errors when interpreting the documentation and modelling the procedures​, a reduction of the time and costs to produce an XR maintenance training system​ and improving quality of training while reducing the necessity to immobilise real aircrafts​.

Architectural Aluminum Academy (AAA) is an Innovation and Skills Development Center in the sector of Architectural Aluminium Systems, with premises in Athens and Thessaloniki. It was created on the initiative of ALUMIL and the partnership with two of the greatest universities in the country (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki & University of Macedonia). AAA fosters the advancement of the construction industry by prioritising the continual training and development of its professionals, using XR technologies.

Role:AAA participates in MOTIVATE XR as a pilot case. AAA will implement/pilot-test the AI-driven XR remote assembly assistance system that D-Cube will develop and evaluate the experience by providing data and feedback from the AAA instructors and third-party constructors’ personnel in charge of assembling aluminium structures. The goal is to create an experience that allows its users to train on all the different architectural aluminium designs for different building requirements and design constraints.

BI-REX is one of the 8 Italian Competence Centers funded by the Italian Ministry of the Economic Development, within the Industry 4.0 National Plan. Its public-private Consortium, born in 2018, with headquarter in Bologna (Italy), gathers in partnership 61 players among Universities, Research Centers and Companies of excellence, to support companies in their digitisation, sustainability and innovation processes and in the adoption of enabling technologies with a view to Industry 4.0 framework, BI-REX offers a complete Pilot Plant.

Role:BI-REX is involved in the implementation of Pilot 5: Hybrid Human-Robot Manufacturing. This pilot aims at training and supporting workers to interact with physical equipment and manufacturing robots through digital twins. A physical robot will be trained in a virtual environment using XR based interaction to allow human operators to issue commands and monitor the robot’s performance in real-time. This pilot will create and XR experience using digital twins, AI, analytics, edge cloud computing and extend.

HEDNO tasks include the operation, maintenance and development of the power distribution network in Greece, as well as the assurance of a transparent and impartial access of consumers and of all network users in general. It aims at providing reliable power supply to our Customers, quality of electricity voltage and constant improvement of quality in services. Its mission and vision is the response to our Customers’ expectations and the contribution to the development and welfare of our fellow citizens with respect to people and to the environment.

Role:HEDNO leads Pilot 5, providing needs and evaluating the tools to create a digital twin of the transformers in the energy grid which will allow engineers to perform their inspection and maintenance activities effectively with XR applications created with the project tools. Tasks include using XR technologies to access maintenance logs, manuals, and data sheets, and providing on-site training through AR glasses. This allows instructors to guide technicians through essential procedures and offer live remote assistance for repairs and maintenance on transformers or switches.

Located near Bordeaux in an outstanding site named “Château de LATRESNE”, AEROCAMPUS AQUITAINE is an EASA PART 147 Aircraft maintenance training centre providing Initial training for School students and Apprentices, continuous training for Professionals and vocational training on and off site Maintenance Training for international trainees.

Role:AC will contribute to pilot 2 with AV, representing the final user of the produced experience. AC will organise the pilot for the Aerospace Industry and its evaluation. The process will be performed with the MOTIVATE XR tool.
